National Gallery of Art – East Building
After a 2 year hiatus from DC, my husband and I have moved back to the District! It has taken some time to adjust back to the city (after living in the SOUTH for 2 years!), with the pace of life, the number of parking tickets and re-discovering all these amazing new things that DC has added since we left!
One of my new favorites since we have been back is the National Gallery of Art – East Building. This is the modern art wing of the National Gallery of Art, and it has always been one of my favorites! Designed by I. M. Pei, my favorite part of the museum is that the building itself is a piece of modern art! There are no 90 degree angles in the building, which provides a fascinating experience as you walk up, and wander through the museum!
They recently re-opened their museum after a remodel and adding new exhibits, and WOW! It is SO fun! It has a good mixture of what has already been there, and some FUN new installations!
The Blue Rooster was a fun one to take photos with!
Check out the National Gallery of Art on your next day off, you won’t regret it!
