Road Trip Playlists
I love road trips! And this weekend is like the “Road Trip Weekend” right?! Some of my earliest and most of my favorite memories with my family are on road trips. See, I grew up in Seattle, while our grandparents lived in Virginia and Louisiana, so instead of flying (which was expensive for us) we would drive all over the continental US of A.
We would drive coast-to-coast and back, and trust me, I know ALL the road trip games. My parents some how made sitting in a car for hours and hours and days upon days really fun, so much fun, that I reeeeaaaaaaalllllllllly want to do that with my family. I just have to convince my husband Dan that it’s a great idea! (hahahah!)
I like to sing at the top of my lungs while driving, especially if you can get a duet going on a road trip with a friend, or you could just rock out the solo like I do… often!
I recently went on a road trip from Durham (or Dirty D as locals call it… I am so becoming a local in no time!) to Atlanta, and as much as I love driving by myself, it really is a LOT better when you have a soundtrack or some interesting to sing along to or listen to!
So, below is my road trip soundtrack from my trip to Atlanta and back! These are all songs I can sing along to, and make up motions… Those are the best songs. (Just picture that crazy people singing by themselves with arm motions… that was is me!)
- Don’t Stop Believing – Journey
- Stay With Me – Sam Smith
- All Of Me – John Legend
- Boom Clap – Charli XCX
- All About That Bass – Meghan Trainor
- Let It Go – Frozen Soundtrack
- Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
- Hey Stephen – Taylor Swift
- Ho Hey – Lumineers
- Home – Phillip Phillips
- Immeasurably More – Rend Collective
- The Outsiders – NEEDTOBREATHE
- Let It Be Known – Worship Central
- Alive – Young & Free
- Better Together – Jack Johnson
- Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepson
- I Won’t Give Up – Jason Mraz
- Love Is An Open Door – Frozen Soundtrack
- My Lighthouse – Rend Collective
- Something Beautiful – NEEDTOBREATHE
BONUS: Podcasts – I love listening to podcasts, because its not the same song over and over again, but its almost like a conversation, so it helps me pay attention and not fall asleep while driving! Double WIN! (Oh! And Books on CD!!)
So, its Labor Day Weekend, and chances are you are gonna drive somewhere, near or far, so share with us your favorite road trip soundtrack in the comments below! Or do you even think my road trip songs are any good?
